This summer beckons me to a journey of creative rediscovery, enticing me with the playful allure of my latest project’s title Foraged and Found. With a mischievous twist on the familiar phrase "lost and found," this endeavour promises to be anything but ordinary.
[Foraged] typically refers to the act of searching for and gathering wild or natural materials, often associated with concepts of resourcefulness and adaptation. In the context of my project, it reflects the process of seeking out and salvaging materials that might otherwise be discarded or overlooked. These materials are collected from various sources, including remnants of previous projects, and found objects gathered from the environment.
[Found] suggests the discovery or rediscovery of something of value or significance. In the context of my work, it represents the transformation of these salvaged materials into new works of art. Through creative exploration and experimentation, discarded scraps are reimagined and given new life, imbued with beauty and meaning that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Together, this play on words encapsulate the dual nature of the collection, speaking to the practical process of gathering materials while also alluding to the artistic journey of uncovering hidden potential and finding beauty in unexpected places. This interplay between the literal and metaphorical layers of meaning adds depth and richness to the narrative of sustainability woven throughout the project.
